There were two gangs the greasers and the socs. The greasers were like the lower class gang. So the socs were the wealthy class. The greasers were always getting jumped by the socs. So one day the decide to settle the feud by a large fight between the two gangs.
This book was written by S.E. Hinton, and was published in 1967. I picked this book because i like books about brotherhood. I also heard it was good from my sister and she usually reads good books. I would recommend this book to anyone. It really is a good book!

The Outsiders
The last book i read was The Outsiders. The Book was written by S.E. Hinton. The Book was first published in 1967. The Main plot in this book was about the life of greasers and soc's. It was explaining how those two groups lived their lives.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone. It is very adventurous and heart throbbing. It was very good and interesting. It really has you the reader connect with the book. I hope you enjoy it and excpect you to read it.

Breaking dawn was written by Stephenie Meyer in 2008. I chose this book because it was the sequel to the twilight series. The main plot of the book is Edward and Bella getting married and Bella's transformation(it's a more sophisticated vampire book, unlike Buffy and Count-Dracula). The Cullens and Quilluete's have a hard time maintaining peace within the land. I would recommend this book to Mr. Hathaway; only after he read the first three though.
I am interested in romance novels like this one. I like this sort of novel because of the cute lovey-dovey couples in the books. I also like books that have real life experiences. I like these books because you can relate to some of the things that go on in the book. Especially the funny experiences.

The Men From Glenngarry
The Men fromGlenngarry is a very good book. It is about a young man growing up in the world. This person is Ranald MacDonald. Ranald is hit hard by a death in his family. When he is young he is very confrontational. Then he falls in love. He travels aroud the newly formed Ottawa territory, showing bravery, wits and a weird way of always finding fights.
This book was not recommened to me. I just kind of picked it upan read it. I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good book. This book is very readable. It may be big and bulky but the pages fly by when you get into the book.

The Outsiders
The last book that I read was The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. This book was written in 1967.This book was about a underprivalaged group of boys. The main characters were mainly the Curtis family. The Curtis parents died in a car accident and left the older brother Darryl to tend to the two younger boys named Ponyboy and Sodapop. The Curtis boys and some other boys from the neighborhood are in a band of brothers called the greasers.
I read this book in english class so it wasn't really recommened to me by anybody but i still thought it was a really good book. I would recommend it to anybody. The book was really entertainging and I think most kids my age would like reading it. There is another book very similar to The Outsiders called Rumble Fish written by the same author S.E. Hinton. I haven't read Rumble Fish but if its anything like The Outsiders I think it will be a really good book.

The Damn Yankees
The Damn Yankees is about the Yankees in the early 30s to the mid 60s. The author is Thomas Gilbert. The book was written in 1997 and copyrighted that year. This book was recommended to me by Mrs. Kusmierz. She thought that this book would a good book for me to read.
I would recommend this book to Jeff. He is a yankee fan so it suits his intrests. The aurtor did a very good job on it. The book tells you a lot about Casey Stargel. It has a lot of historical events in it.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
This is the sixth book of seven epic books by J.K. Rowling. Harry is back in hogwarts and is doing more than just schoolwork. He must help dumbledore reveal the secret of voldemort's past in order to save the present. There will also be more interesting and maybe dangerous events that take place this year, including quiddich matches, old rivals, and new teachers. You would want to read this book for many reasons. There is a movie based on it, there is a popular author, and it is one of the most read series of all time. I would highly recomend this book to anyone who has read previous books in the series, or has an intrest in wizardry.

The last book I read was Marley and Me. The author of the book is John Gordon. This book was published on October 18, 2005. I chose this book because I love animals. I knew I was going to enjoy this book when I saw the cover. This book was recommended to me by my grandma. I'm interested in mainly mystery or inspirational books.
The main plot of this story is about a family and their troubled dog, Marley. After Gordon and his wife Jenny got married they brought home Marley, a yellow lab puppy. From that day forward life would be different for Gordon and Jenny. He was a very mischievious puppy. He quickly grew to be a ninety-seven-pound dog, and even more destructive. When Gordon and Jenny wanted to start a family, would this make Marley jealous and be even worse? Even though he caused much stress in their household, he had a strong bond with Gordon and Jenny and their new baby. The story gets more interesting as it goes on in either the book or the movie. I would recommend this book to a family or people who love dogs.

The last book i read was House by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. This book was written in March 2006. I picked this book because it was recommended to me by my cousin and she kept saying how all of her friends loved this book. Right when she said it was a horror/mystery i new it would be a good one. So I decided to read the book because it keeps you on your seat.
After two couple's get stranded by traps in the road they go and find a nearby house, thinking it was a hotel when actually it's something way different. There were other people at the house once they got there and when finding out only one cant be trusted, it all goes down hill from there, remember game ends at dawn! This book was reccommended by Kiah Chiumento, she told me a little bit about the book and right then I got into it. I also picked it because it contained drama and romance. I read other books in that series.
Twilight is about Bella Swan having to move to Forks, Washington to live with her dad. While she is there, she meets a family named the Cullens. She then falls madly in love with one of the Cullen men. They struggle to fight for their love for each other. It is a very touching book that will leave you breathless and emotional. I reccommend this to teenager girls because girls will most likely read it because it's about mushy stuff, and guys don't like reading about stuff like that.

Eclipse
The last book I have read was called Eclipse. This book was written by Stephenie Meyer in December 18th 2009. I picked to read this book because i had already written the two before it and watched the first movie. The main plot was that this young adult and this vampire are together in a relationship and the girl goes through a lot of near dealth experiences. She has to find away to stay alive and to fix all the drama she has had with a old friend named Jacob.
I would recommend this book to younger girls around my age. This is because not a lot of guys get interested in books or movies like this, and girls would like the romance and action in it all. The book that i last read is by Cornelia Funke(Inkheart) and it was written on October 1, 2005. I picked the book because my friend had recommended it to me so i decided to read it. The main plot of this story is that a girl named maggie had found out that her father is a silvertongue which is a gift that once you read a book out loud and characters come out of the book. The first time her father read a book out loud was when maggie was a baby and her mom went into the book and other characters came out of the book.

The Slave Dancer
This book was a class book that we read during school in Mrs.Dubots class. At first i was thinking that the book wouldn't be good at all. This book is about a young boy the young boys name is jessie that doesn't have alot of money his hole life. Then one day he had gotten captured by these sailors after that he had no clue at all were he was. Those days he spent with the slaves he had relized that someone out there had a worst life then him.
This book was a very excelent book. I recomend everyone to read this book if you like to learn about how slaves lived and what everyone did on the boats to make money. The book isn't very long but it gets right to the point and goes by fast once you start reading it. The auther is Paula Fox a very good writer. If you guys like her then you should really read this book.

Flags of Our Fathers
The last book I read on my own was Flags of Our Fathers. Flags of Our Fathers is written by James Bradley and Ron Powers and was published in May 2000. I became interested in this book from a few commercials i saw on TV about people's reactions to this book. I believed that I would enjoy this book, so I rented it from the public library. I have read most of Flags of Our Fathers but I have not finished it, yet. I told another student that also wanted to read Flags of Our Fathers that I would have it done in 2 weeks. When I didn't finish the book in 2 weeks, I gave the book to him anyway. However I plan to soon finish the book.

Who wrote it and when was it written? It was written by charels W. Sasser. This book was written in 1990. The reason i picked this book was beacuse my uncle recomended it to me. Also i love rading books about the military and different wars.
The main plot of the story was telling the readers about how carlos hathcock was one of the best marine corps snipers. He had 93 confermed kills in the vietnam war. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books about military and war. And anyone who can take alittle bit of blood in storys. The novel i would be interested in would be another book like this one. A book about war and the military.

Assignement # 1
Your first assignment of the year is to pick a novel (fiction is a requirement). When I pick a novel, it is usually for a few of the following reasons:

2. It fits my interests
3. I have read another work by the author
4. A new movie comes out based on a book
5. It has been deemed a classic of literature, therefore demands attention.
